Blog Post Number 8

Idea: all teachers should upload their notes on the Internet to make them more easily accessible to students.

Subject Area: all subjects.

Details: Teachers should use either a personal website or Dropbox to distribute necessary notes. With the availability of netbooks we can reduce the use of paper, while increasing the availability of learning materials for students, thus enhancing the learning experience.
Technology Needed: website creation tools and/or Dropbox.
Pros
  • Faster access to notes
  • Saves paper- good for environment
  • Makes materials more easily available before tests
  • Enhances learning
 Cons
  • May take a few months to implement
  • Might be an issue for teachers who are not comfortable with technology
What Needs to Happen to Make the Idea Work:
  1. Dropbox should be fully set up and tested
  2. Workshops for teachers should take place
  3. IDC students should fix any issues that may arise

1 comment:

  1. 1) Is the idea realistic?
the idea is realistic because both students and teacher have access to the technology at home or at school. IDC students can teach students and teachers how to use the technology if needed like how we helped ms alsoponso's class with diigo. I believe that this idea will take around a month or 2 for teachers to learn how to develope a website or use dropbox. Some teachers have already implemented this idea into their class and has been very helpful for the students.

    2) Does the idea enrich learning?
It makes learning meaningful because class work will be able to access anywhere the students are because it will all be electronic and this will help save paper. Students can be more engaged because they will be reminded of important dates on the website where they can be more engaged for tests and assignments. With a class website teachers can also add a comment box for each upload so if students do not undestand a concept that is uploaded then they can simply add a comment so the teacher can see and help.
